Ghosty Labs LLC runs KNOWMO. This page says what we collect, why, who helps us run the site, and what you can ask us to do. Questions go to hello@knowmo.app.

What we collect

  • Your email address, when you join the waitlist, create an account, sign up for The Receipt, or give it for more token checks.
  • Your password, when you create an account. Our sign-in provider stores it scrambled (hashed), so nobody can read it, us included.
  • Your account's status (waiting, approved or paused), and when you accepted our terms.
  • If you pay for a membership: your name, email, billing country, your card's brand and last four digits, your plan, and whether each payment went through. Your full card number goes to Stripe, never to us.
  • The coins you look up with the token check, with a salted code made from your connection to apply the daily limit (never your IP address itself), and a scrambled copy of your email if you gave it for more checks.
  • The referral code in a link that brought you here, which kind of page you landed on and the day; who referred whom, counted by email; and steps such as running a check or signing up for The Receipt, recorded with the same salted code, never with your IP address or email.
  • Your answers to The Receipt's questions, if you say yes to it on our site or answer them from its emails (see below).
  • The topics you tap in The Receipt's welcome email, to learn what readers want (we only ever look at the totals), with a code for your connection kept for a day to stop automated voting. If you subscribed to The Receipt through beehiiv, for example from another newsletter's recommendation, we keep your email with ours, so you get your own share link like everyone else.
  • Page view counts from Vercel Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and tells visits apart with a code that changes every day. Referral codes are removed from the addresses it receives.
  • The technical logs our hosting providers keep to run and protect the site: your IP address, browser, and which pages were requested when.
  • Cookies: the ones that keep you signed in, and five of our own that remember the referral code of the link that brought you (for 30 days), your own referral code for share links, the scrambled email you gave for more checks, our signature on those two, so nobody else can pass for you, and whether you joined the Trench line in this browser. We use no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

We never collect your wallet addresses, keys or seed phrase.

How we use it

  • To create and run your account, approve members, and keep you signed in.
  • To bill paid memberships, and to handle refunds, disputes and fraud.
  • To send account emails: confirming your address, resetting your password, and billing notices.
  • To send The Receipt if you signed up for it. Every issue has a link to unsubscribe.
  • To tell people on the waitlist when spots open, and to give referral rewards.
  • To count which links and pages bring people to the site, without knowing who they are.
  • To keep the site secure and working.

We don't sell or rent your information, and we don't use it for advertising.

The Receipt's questions

Saying yes to The Receipt on our site comes with 5 quick questions, and 3 more you can skip: what you want to read about, how often you trade, what's hardest for you, which chains you use, how you found us, what you trade with, what you'd like to learn, and anything else you'd like us to write about. The 5 are needed for a yes, except in the EU and EEA, the UK, Switzerland, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, where you can skip them too. Readers can answer them from its emails as well, every one optional; answers sent that way keep a code for your connection for a day, to stop automated answers. We ask so we can choose what to write.

Your answers are kept with your email on our list. We never sell them and never show anyone your answers by name; if a sponsor ever asks what readers want, they only see totals. To have your answers deleted, write to hello@knowmo.app.

Who helps us run the site

These companies handle data for us, only to provide their service:

  • Vercel, which hosts the site and counts page views, in the United States.
  • Supabase, which holds the database and runs sign-in, in Canada.
  • Stripe, which takes card payments, in the United States.
  • beehiiv, which sends The Receipt, in the United States.
  • Resend, which sends our account emails, in the United States.
  • Google Workspace, which holds our email inbox, in the United States.

How long we keep it

  • Account details: while your account exists, or until you ask us to delete them.
  • Payment records: as long as tax and accounting rules require, at Stripe and with us.
  • Waitlist emails: until you ask us to remove yours, or the waitlist closes.
  • The Receipt: until you unsubscribe. After that we keep your entry on our list, marked as unsubscribed, so we never send it to you again; ask us and we delete it, with your topic picks and your answers to its questions.
  • Email delivery records: 30 days, at Resend.
  • Hosting logs: as long as our providers keep them, usually days to weeks.

What you can ask us

Write to hello@knowmo.app to get a copy of what we hold about you, or to have it corrected or deleted. We answer within 30 days. Depending on where you live (for example the EU, the UK or California), you may have more rights; tell us what you need and we'll help.

Children

KNOWMO is not for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If we change this policy, we update the date at the top and email members about any important change.
